Project 2028: The Road from 2:03 to the HYROX Pro Podium (Age 54)

In my first HYROX June 2025, I crossed the line at 2:03. It was a victory of finish, but 'finishing' is no longer the metric. The goal has shifted from survival to supremacy.

By 2028—my 54th birthday month—I intend to stand on the podium in the Men’s Pro Singles (50–54). I’m not waiting for the 'easier' 55–59 bracket. I’m going after the younger end of my current group to prove that age is a variable we can control.

This blog is the open-source laboratory for the SavageOver50 protocol. I will document every metric, every recovery hack, and every failure for the next 32 months. If you want to see what happens when a 50plus man refuses to decline and decides to hunt the podium, follow along. The receipts start here.

This is the latest goal I am chasing For men’s open singles. Current PB is taken off my latest race in Dec 2025. Hope I get a 1:40 or better in the April 2026 race.
