One Metric to Rule 2026
You know how it goes. Every January, the world screams "New Year, New Me." People make a laundry list of resolutions, and by February, they’ve already quit. Statistically, most fail, and that failure wrecks their will to even try again next year.
Why not make it simple, yet dangerously effective? Try this instead.
Forget the "blah blah" of a total life overhaul. Just pick one metric. One specific number where you are going to outdo the 2025 version of yourself.
For me, that metric is my HYROX finish time. My latest clock stopped at 1:51. My goal for 2026? Sub-90 minutes by June. Is that ambitious? Yes. Is it going to take a level of obsession that most people won't understand? Absolutely. But that’s the point. When you narrow your focus to one singular target, you stop "exercising" and you start training.
Pick your number. Maybe it’s your 5km pace, your body fat percentage, or the weight on your deadlift bar. Whatever it is, write it down, pin it to your wall, and become obsessed with obliterating your 2025 self.
Don't try to change your whole life. Just change that one number. The discipline you build chasing that one metric will bleed into everything else anyway.
2025 is the benchmark. 2026 is the hunt. What’s your metric?
